Yerevan State University is the oldest continuously operating public university in Armenia. Founded in 1919, it is the largest university in the country. It is thus informally known as Armenia's "mother university". Of its 3,150 employees, 1,190 comprise the teaching staff. The university has 400 researchers, 1,350 post-graduate students, and 8,500 undergraduates, including 300 students from abroad. The Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics (IAM) of the Yerevan State University is a leading educational and scientific centre preparing fundamental research scientists as well as highly qualified programmers. The Faculty has Bachelors and Masters Degrees specialized in "Informatics and Applied Mathematics" (both, full - and part-time).

 

PolytechLogoNational Polytechnic University of Armenia

Established in 1933, the university provides educational and research programs in various fields of technology and science related to engineering. Currently there are more than 8,000 students and more than 750 faculty members. University offers qualification degree of junior specialist, bachelor, master and researcher in technical sciences, including Radio Engineering and Communication Systems and Computer Systems and Informatics. It includes Microsoft IT Academy, Cisco Network Academy, Autodesk Authorized Training Center, Kaspersky Lab Training Laboratory, Bauman University Distance Education Center, Testing Centre and etc.

Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University is a university located in Yerevan. The university was established on August 29, 1997. Beginning with one general department in 1999, to date RAU enrolls approximately 1,600 students in the following faculties: Law, Journalism, Economics, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Political Science, Tourism Studies and Promotion, Physics and Engineering, Electronics and Microelectronics, Medical Biochemistry, Psychology, Theory and Methodology of Teaching Foreign Languages and Cultures, Philology, Bioengineering and Bioinformatics.

The American University of Armenia is a private independent university in Yerevan, Armenia. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission. It is the first and sole U.S.-accredited institution in the former Soviet Union that provides undergraduate and graduate education. The university is the first institution in Armenia modeled on Western-style higher education, committed to teaching, research, and service. The university offers master's degrees in eight fields and bachelor's degrees in three fields of study, including College of Science and Engineering and Computational Sciences.

The Armenian-Indian Center for Excellence in ICT provides a specialized infrastructure and high-performance facility for the delivery of IT-related trainings and R&D programs that create new opportunities for the development of IT workforce skills in Armenia. Situated in Yerevan State University and equipped with a state-of-the-art High Performance Computing Facility, the Center also provides certification and consultancy in different areas of interest.

The IBM Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center in Armenia is aimed at providing state-of-the-art facilities and latest technological solutions by IBM, including hardware and software necessary for conducting trainings, research and business development activities in various directions. The main goal of the Center is to develop and strengthen the educational capabilities of Armenian higher educational institutions in IT/High-Tech, to enhance their research potential in educational context, as well as creating a favorable environment for formation of sustainable businesses.

The goals of the Center include development of technical and business skills, promotion of technological entrepreneurship, commercialization of innovative research undertakings, creation of new technology companies, attracting of foreign investment and others. The mission of the Center is to turn Gyumri into a regional and international center of information and high technologies through creating an enabling environment of opportunities and services that would promote job creation, will support talented youth and provide incentives for innovative business ideas and companies ultimately contributing to the sustainable growth of the region.

 

VanadzorLogoVanadzor Technology Center

The mission of Vanadzor Technology Center is to turn Vanadzor into a regional and international center of information and high technologies by creating such a developing environment of opportunities and services that will contribute to the creation of new jobs and will support the talented young people and organizations to implement innovative business ideas contributing to the sustainable development of the region. The goals of the Center include development of technical and business skills, promotion of technological entrepreneurship, commercialization of innovative research undertakings, creation of new technology companies, attracting of foreign investment and others.

 

AnelLogo Armenian National Engineering Laboratories

The main goal of the Project is to meet the demand of the engineering industry in quality specialists and graduates educated on up-to-date technological base to confront the employee shortage and to increase value-added and innovativeness of Armenian high tech businesses, thus increasing their international competitiveness. ANEL was founded on September 2, 2013 by Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), RA Government, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and State Engineering University of Armenia.

MlabLogo mLab ECA

The mLab provides a wide range of innovation support services, including organization of trainings, business mentoring, idea generation, and matching grants. Its management and experts team work with mobile application developers in the region to assist them in product development and promotion, connecting them with potential investors, academic experts, and public sector leaders. New mobile application testing environment will soon be setup as well. The first ever Regional Mobile Application Laboratory is a place where local and regional companies, technologists and experts collaborate to develop locally relevant applications that meet user demands.

 

Logo Sun Microsystems Development and testing Laboratory

The laboratory is established to prepare and help companies achieve higher value added in their products and services. The objective of the project is to strengthen the skills of university graduates and introduce high productivity services to the Armenian IT sector. The program draws on the experience and expertise of EIF in building new technology start-ups and university programs, and Sun Microsystems’ vast technological base and interest in Armenian market.

 

CiscoLogoCISCO Systems Network Academy

The Cisco Systems Network Academy Program in Armenia is the result of a strategic collaboration of EIF with UniComp CJSC and Cisco Systems, the world leader in network and communications technology and services. The Cisco Networking Academy curriculum includes comprehensive online and on-site educational programs that enable IT students and professionals to develop valuable information and communication technology skills for increased access to opportunities in the global economy.
