Armenian-Chinese relations

On November 17, 2011, in Qingdao city of Shandong province, People’s Republic of China, Mr. Sergey Manaseryan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the People's Republic of China, Mr. Arthur Yegoryan,  Representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Armenia and Mr Ruben Kopyan,  authorized person of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of the Armenia  in China and the "Innovation Center for Belt and Road Collaboration" signed an agreement on  establishment and  support of the Armenian Office of Cooperation

On August 29 Business Advocacy Meeting (BAN) took place at the premises of Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry where 14 representatives of BAN member organization took part.

President of Foundation of Small and Medium Businesses Mr. Gagik Pogossian and Advisor to the President of Yerevan CCI Mr. Vladimir Amiryan welcomed the participants and introduced agenda of the meeting. Then Mr. Pogossian briefly introduced previous activities, particularly focusing the process of National Business Agenda development in the areas of Tax Reforms, Inspection Reforms and SME Policy. Participants have been informed that in coming period 3 policy papers have to be developed in the mentioned areas to better advocate for business society. Also it was mentioned that all the documents have been updated and uploaded at both Armenian and Yerevan CCIs’ webpages (http://www.armcci.am/en/member_database/Business%20Advocacy).

According to the agenda the BAN members elected new following members of secretariat:

  • Gagik Pogossian- Foundation of Small and Medium Businesses

  • Vladimir Shatverov- Head of Financial Committee at CCi of Armenia

  • Artak Mikayelyan- Deputy Director of Yerevan CCI

  • Samvel Mkhitaryan- Foundation for Social and Civil Development

  • Hayk Margaryan- Equal Opportunity Endowment Foundation


During the meeting participants exchanged their views on better performance of BAN’s activities.

“Business Advocacy Network” is a non-official union of organizations and individuals, which aims at promoting social-economic reforms and developing private entrepreneurship in Armenia, ensuring the involvement and participation of business community and civil society in developing, implementing, regulating, and assessing public policy.
The network has a goal to make the voice of business community accessible to state bodies, act as a structure able to more effectively implement the interest protection of small and medium businesses and their stakeholders.
