
The seminar organized by RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry and US Embassy in Armenia was on GSP+ system of US export which embraces 129 countries, Armenia included.
“Generalized system of preferences” (GSP+) is designed to allow preferential duty access for up to 6400 products of local origin from designated beneficiary countries and territories through reduced tariffs. The latter allows exporting a range of products of Armenian origin to US market with zero or reduced tariffs.
Since 2010 the US Government had suspended GSP system preferentials which however was restored in 2011. Compensation is provided with the specified amount for the goods exported to US in the period mentioned. All the noted points, compensation process and separate opinions were clarified by the specialists of economic attaché of the Embassy. Executive Director of RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Araik Vardanyan assured that the Chamber is ready to organize such seminars regularly and support the export process.
